Balboa 10226 Topside Control Panel Backlight Lamp Bulb BB10226

When the backlight dies on a spa topside panel, the display washes out in sunlight and disappears at night — even though the spa itself runs fine. The Balboa 10226 is the genuine miniature lamp that backlights Balboa digital topside control panels, rated 14 volts and 1.1 watts (molded right into the base of the bulb). It twists into the back of the panel with a quarter turn, and it is the factory bulb for Balboa 701 and 724 series topsides, also used in Sundance, Marquis, and Coleman panels built on Balboa controls.

🚩 PRO TIP: Shut the spa off at the breaker before prying the topside panel up — the bulb sockets are live whenever the pack has power. The bulb comes out with a gentle quarter-turn twist; needle-nose pliers help if it is tight.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• How do I know the bulb — not the panel — has failed? If the spa still runs and the display digits are visible in shade but the panel no longer glows, the backlight bulb is the usual cause. It is a few-dollar part worth trying before replacing a panel.
• How is the 10226 installed? With power off at the breaker, gently pry the topside panel up, find the gray bulb sockets on the back, and twist the old bulb about a quarter turn to remove it. The new bulb twists in the same way.
• Is this an LED bulb? No. The 10226 is the original incandescent miniature lamp, rated 14V and 1.1W, exactly as molded on its base.
